Tales from the workplace
Story time. There was once a guy named A, who worked for my company. A was a good guy, worked hard, was liked by everyone and in general had a good attitude towards everyone and everything. He wasn't a lamb either though- when someone or something ticked him off, he could yell too. He was like all the guys in that sense, what seperated him was that until such a situaton arose, he was actually a nice guy.
A didn't get paid much. Maybe 2000-2300 Qatari Riyals. For a guy like him it was a bit of money. he had a family back home, kids to raise. the sheit just keeps getting hectic. But he worked here for it, just like thousands of others do. meagre wages, sometimes as less as QR.500 for a month's worth of 12 hour per shift work. So A was not getting paid too badly, but he waasn't getting paid much is what I am trying to say.
Part of A's job, other than transpoting vehicles from location to location, was to deliver cheques, buy petty cash goods, settle small bills with this and that company etc.
A had worked for the company for about 3 years, always a good worker.
Three months ago, A left for his home country, he was going on a vacation. Its been three and half months since he left, no one has heard from him since.
He took 14,000 as a loan, (through the company) from a bank two months before he left. Its all gone. 5000 Riyals in petty cash funds are missing. No one can find them.
A left. I think he's gone for good, too.
Story time is over.
Did you think of A as a hero or as a criminal?
