for the ladies.. (and anyone else who cares to read)
Ladies.. you have to read this article, it is really realy well written. It says much that is usually left unsaid.
Doctor, Can You Give Me Something for the Pain?

Sidenote:
This particular article comes from an online community of South Asians called Chowk - as in the Urdu or Hindi word for crossing (ie. intersection) point of many different paths, a phenomenon widely noticed in South-East Asia. I used to be a member of, and an avid reader of Chowk many years ago when an uncle of mine introduced me to the site. It was an enjoyable time laughing along or even arguing with other desis, but at one point it got too much. The politics between some Indian and Pakistani elements on the site got too intrusive to the core meaning of Chowk. Sure, there are people who are middle of the road posters, or even peacemakers but the comments section usually deteriorates to arguing and bickering over nothing. Why bash Jinnah or Gandhi now, after so many years when doing so serves no purpose?
I really did like this site. Some writers on it such as the talented Shandana Minhas who wrote the above article, possess ample talent and are able to blend story and message seamlessly, creating an entertaining and educative forum. However, I guess that back then, I was turned off by the negative vibes which always popped up on the comments pages. I am going to give the site another prolonged try though, becauyse this article was truly remarkable. Perhaps i'll stay away from the comments section, nothing should hold a person back from reading such beautiful prose that manages to inspire so admirably.
