Garden State

I can't make a whole review about this movie because after about ten lines, I wouldn't know what to write. But, I would like to put down on paper the few thougts that I do have about Garden State. It is an excellent movie, the acting is great, the casting was pretty superb too. What really caught me was the screenplay and writing, it was so well done and Zach Braff really shows a lot of promise with writing such a sophisticated story at such an age and then goign onto act out one of the lead roles with so much poise and talent. Natalie Portman is well.. amazing. She is so believable and amusing throughout the movie, from the first line she delivers you just know its going to be a pleasure to watch her.

The down-to-earth reality of the two leads was amazing. I found myself smiling, laughing, agonizing - feeling their problems, the samllest of phrases hit me; this is the magic created when screenwriting and acting both hit home runs.

I watched this movie at 3 am or some obscene time as that and now that I have watched it, I regret it cuz it would have been nice to have a pretty girl by my side and someone to talk to after the movie. Sadly, when I took my headphones off, all that surrounded me was the snoring of my two brothers.

ps: Yasmine, the soundtrack was awesome. I especially like teh Coldplay songs and the one song by Frou Frou called "Let Go". Oh, and I also download all my movies. its my way of bringing down the movies establishment one movie at a time. Although, the keener observer would point that many of teh mvoies I do watch are independent films and hence I am just a lying thief. If this was the case, I would tell that keener to go mind his own business, however. Problem solved. Struggling with my conscience? Not me.
