Some things you should be aware of..

Pay homage to the wisps that line my face, pay homage to the ever growing forst that takes roo on this glorious mukhda. The beard is back. And it has been glorious in its return - extracting a compliment from even the hater of all facial hair, my mom. Yessir, ze beard is back.

Yes, I know it is sad that I have to list a compliment from my mom as proof that this beard is looking good. But seriously, there are no women here in Doha. Or they are all afraid of men. Its ridiculous. the only ladies or women I have spoken to in the last month have been people I have known for the last 9 years ie. aunties galore. As soon as I get paid, I shall be going to Beirut. Or Cairo. Or Istanbul. Yes, thats it.. Cairo.

An internal clock has begun counting down in the last few days towards the Fifa world cup. I just thought about it for a second and realised that there are 79 days left till the World cup kicks off. Then I woke up yesterday and realised that it was only 78 days. Today, while brushing my teeth I thought to myself, holy crap! Only 77. This clearly shows that a clock has started ticking somewhere inside me. Needless to say, a perma smile has appeared on my face. I am now the most photo genic person on earth, prone to wearing football jerseys at all occasion possible, even if my mom thinks its in bad taste to bust out an Argentinian jersey at a Brazilian resturant. Whatever. Viva Maradona. Viva Germany. Viva Football. Oh, and pretzels.

I miss hats. I really do. Its too hot here to wear a hat all day. My castro hat is going limp hanging on my bedpost. You would think that with such a situation at hand, I would not want more hats. But you would be wrong wouldn't you? Because the first thing on my list of things to buy when I get paid in April is... wait for it .. wait for it.. a hat! perhaps even three hats! I might just go all out. You never know. Hats, some very good chocolate and a pair of very good headphone. Top three things on the list, not in random order. What was that I was saying about people being fickle? Hey, in my defence, yesterday was the first dau i earned money in seven months. I deserve to dream a little.

Oh yeah, I got a job. Just part time though. I'll tell you more about it soon.
