Blast in Karachi

A bomb blast in Krachi has rocked a section of Karachi creating a substantial crater in the area eright across from the US embassy in Karachi. The blast occured between the Us embassy and the Marriot Hotel which lies exactly opposite it. One US diplomat and a few Pakistani men recieved fatal injuries from the blast.

The attacks have a special significance as George Bush is set to visit Pakistan in just two days. The President will not be visiting Karachi, however, this sound off is just the beginning in a hectic few days of protests , riots and debate all over Pakistan.

incidentally, the luxury hotel across from the US consulate boasts a delectable Suisse Patisserie where some of the best pastries in Karachi are available. The cafe au lait and the croissant combo is also very very good. Almost reminiscent of Paris actually, well except for the high security zone riight outside the hotel, and the dozen or so guard trucks that patrol the area due to the embassy. I miss Karachi. And Paris too.Oh what I wouldn't give to have Magali order me a cafe au lait and croissant in her sweet French accent.
