I've been trying to watch this video off the site all day but its not working. maybe it might for some of you so I'll leave the link up for now. But if you stiull don't now what happened, here it is in a few sentences as I am already sick of telling the story.
I wasn't let onto my flight last night. It seriously was not my fault and the CDG staff were most un-coopeartive. they refused to call my travel agent, refused to check their internal systems to see if my visa was waiting in Doha and insisted that I buy a return ticket to Canada, which I obviously would have wasted money on since I do not plan on going back till June. They wasted my time for one hour and diddle daddled while the check-in time wound down to 15 minutes. Then they told me I would have to buy the ticket, which I obviously did not have money for.
I asked them for atleast one international call to my dad or mom so that I could get a credit card number. They flat out refused. I asked for a call to Mag's cellphone, they refused that too. I was like what the fuck? This is an utter lack of common decency. What are you gonna do keep me stranded at the airport? You're gonna have to give me a phone call at some point, might as well do it now and let me atleast solve the issue.
then, a great French dude who was also a Qatar Airways employee was in line dropping off a relative. He spoke on my behalf to the supervisor, gave me a cellphone to call Mag and as hi relative was leaving, introduced me to another Air France employee who was Pakistani in origin. we hit it off immediately. Great dude, awesome attitude. he offered me a cellphone that could make an international call, he asked if I had eaten, took me outside while I waited for my luggage, hung out with me till the end till I went out into Arrivals to meet Mag.
It was horrible. The whole experience sorta soured the trip. But even in this bad situation I met two great people.
My ticket is for tomorrow at 11:15 am. everythign should be good since my Dad went into Qatar Airways and bitched at some people. He knows the guy working at the Doha Visa office tomorrow, so he'll be there with him tomorrow waiting for my arrival. I want to see the look on the face of that prick who refused to let me go. Fucking pqper pushing chumps. they know they don't make decisions, so why not call the supervisor imediqtely rqther than waste my time and leave no window to correct the problem. Like Mag says, Welcome to France. I think yesterday I got a dose of what she lives through everyday in all forms of bureaucracy. This would never have happened in Canada, especially the part about the phone calls.
So there you have it, in 'a few words'.
