Job Search and the trip to Pakistan

There are several companies that I would like to work for, like Al-Jazeera International, an english News broadcasting channel set to hit the airwaves in March much to the chagrin of one Donald Rumsfeld. Or I would liketo work for Qatar Airways, perhaps as a steward on one of their routes. That would lead to some serious partying and travelling, both hobbies of mine. i would also not be adverse to The Qatar Red Crescent Society which is the equivalent of the Red Cross in Qatar. They are doing some amazing work in Pakistan right now. Speaking of Pakistan, Qatar has decided to rebuild a section of the earthquake destroyed region in its entirety. The agency leading this project is the Qatar Charitable Society, another organisation I would like to work for. The options are numerous, but the jobs are limited.

The trip to Pakistan is set, but in tentative terms. I have to exit Qatar on Nov 21st if I don't get a job by then. i don't think I will get a job by then because nothing in Qatar has ever moved so fast as to grant permanent residency within a week of applying for a job. Since I do have to exit the country, I'm going to Pakistan. A two way ticket will cost me 1100 riyals (C$1= 3R). Not bad at all for a trip to Pakistan during which I could possibly hit Kashmir for two weeks and volunteer. I'm adamant on that trip to Kashmir cuz I figure the next 5 months are my chance to rack up as much experience as I can in the field I want to work in, and this is it. I want to work for NGOs, this is the perfect opportunity to show my commitment to the idea without burdening myself with a huge debt. Why not go for it? But, my parents are less than enthusiastic. The only reason the train has even begun to move on this issue is one of my dad's friends who was very supportive and optimistic about the idea when I first pitched it in his presence. Thank god for his sense of adventure, a far cry from the other old fogies who just want to count their money and bitch about their General Managers. Or wonder out lous why in the world I decided to do a political science degree. Even I don't remember anymore.
