Thousands of tribespeople have started a mass exodus out of Congo into neighbouring countries over the past week. The UN has warned that mass displacement could have disastrous consequences in the conflicted region. DR Congo rebels have exerted an influence over the region for years and with the increasing activity between Rwandan forces and Hutu rebels operating out of Congo, the DR Congo rebels do not want to be left behind in this fight for power.
