I have a Pot Roast Recipe

i always loved the comfort of the kitchen
feeling the warmth of the stove
listening to the purring of the refridgerator
i had set up a kingdom there on the tile floor

war raged in other far distant parts of the country but
here in my kingdom all was well
there were times when i was invaded my neighboring countries
but the occupation was never long

if u look closely at the wall in the hallway
there are still traces of her blood...she says she left
them to remind her of him.

but i don't linger outside of my kingdom often
i am forever 8 years old in my kitchen
and it is always sunday in there and the time is
always 3:17

even now that i am grown she still hasn't explained to me why
but my kitchen kingdom is still my own
