This is ESUZ 98.6 Request Radio.

One of my friends read this blog for the first time and asked me if I could translate the hindi song I posted a few days ago. As a blog corporation always looking to better our stock, we here as essentialuzi are glad to announce that we have been able to meet this request.

This is a rough translation to english. It doesn't do enough justice to the song by a long shot. There are two reasons for this. One, I am an amateur poet, so this translation is not the best since I haven't translated poetry before. And more imporatantly, this song was written in beautiful poetic form and language. To translate it, is unfair in itself.

Any person who has lived in India or Pakistan and can speak the language, has this song memorised by heart. Be they young or old, this is the quintessential love song, full or sorrow, remorse and above all, love and heartbreak.

Sometimes

a thought creeps into my heart,
if I could have lived life without you,
I could have been saved.

This sadness that surrounds my heart,
could have been lost in the shadows of your eyes.
But this could not happen,
this could not happen and now,
I am left destitute.
You, your sorrows, and your soul have left,
as I wander through life like I need no one.

Sometimes
a thought creeps into my heart,
that you,were made for me.
That, till now you lived in the stars of heaven,
and you have been called down to earth,
just for me.

sometimes, a thought creeps into my heart..
