Heard the news today..

I wrote this piece while at work. One of my co workers told me abt her best friend's 21 year old daughter who was found dead this past weekend. I was kinda moved by the story and just felt like writing something...

Heard the news today,
mother of a child,
lay
dead today.
It's a sad world
that just got sadder.
Her parents left gasping,
momma left teary eyed,
her 4 yr old son didn't even know why he cried.

Some say sucide,
others say no way!
nevertheless,
there she lay,
gone,
far away.
All I can do is pray
and ask God to show her soul
heaven's way.

Paramedics tried to revive her
but her heart remained static.
Now she's just another statistic
this world spit.

Our society,enrages and camouflages
our hearts, our souls,
our inner light.
She died yesterday,
not knowing that she was the light,
in someone else's life.

Now we left with nothing.
A body in a garage, a half empty bed
and a house full of sorrow.
Seems like there won't be a tomorrow.
But, we remember
the laughter, the cries, the sorrow.
it's all we have to keep from going insane.

Momma always said,
Life is a one way lane,
when it stop, you can't turn back.
So, before you close that door,
hug your love, kiss your momma
and tell your babies you love 'em.
Do this everyday,
just in cas,e one day
your'e the one,
that can't turn back.
