what a beautiful day ..
I walked out of work early this morning and I usually have to wait for abt 15 mins for the bus but today, I had to wait about a half hour. So, I walked over to a nearby hill and just sat at the top and read. I looked up a few minutes later and the sun was just coming out from the east. On the other side of the horizon though was a full moon in all it glory. It shone bright in the sky showing its true colours right before it vansihed. It was a magnificient scene. I wish I had a camera then..
Calgary won yesterday and my day at work was awesome after that. I cannot wait for game 6. It's gonna be awesome. I hope they win. Calgary will be rocking in that case. Some people, especially some Canadian hockey fans, are not so excited about the Flames. I just don't understand that. I can think of no reason for someone to wish another bad luck or ill will just because they're team is no longer in the playoffs. That is completely above me. However, I cannot imagine what my response would be if Ottawa was in the final. So, I can't criticise. I can just wonder.
A few interesting developments have occured in Washington over the past few days. First, the Director of the CIA resigned his post after coming under heavy fire for the 911 attacks. Then, just a day later, one of his key deputies also resigned. The press is once again being very knaive or extremely shrewd for that matter. This is a huge news story that should have been splashed all over the news and this is exactly the kind of story that should be analysed. Yet, the press is just reporting it and then saying that a report from the Congressional 911 commision is supposed to come out next month. (Article from The Guardian).
These two guys are fall guys for the Bush Administration. The report that is going to come out is going to be exteremely critical of the Administration. Since, the report can't point fingers straight at Bush (that would be unpatriotic you see. And it might put American soldiers at risk. How? No one knows.), they will point fingers at his key men. George Tenet, the director was going to be one of these men. So, rather than deal with public calls for resignations and firings, the Bush Administration has decided to get rid of two people that would have caused them muchh anxiety in the next few weeks. If the guy doesn't hold the position anymore, what are you gonna make noise about? When the report does come out, there will be renewed promises of accountability and honesty and whatever other positive word you can think of. Case closed. Welcome to Pre-emptive Damage Control.
