Last night was a heart breaker
The Flames lost is double overtime and I could not have been more bummed out abt it. Now, when they do win in the seventh game, I won't get to watch the whole game, cuz i'll have to go to work near the end of it. That sucks big time too. However, what sucks more than anything else is that they didn't wrap it up when they had the chance. I gotta hand it to Tampa though, they played a good game, even though the odds favoured Calgary heavily especially at home. Crazy game and some fantastic goals by both teams. The referees did a real good job too. They called what was needed and left everything else alone. Good wholesome Canadian hockey.
Don Cherry on Hockey Night in Canada said some amazing stuff about the Canadian vets that I completely agreed with last night. Don might not always be right on many things but he was bang on last night. We should be proud of out vets and make sure that their scarifses are never forgotten. To forget their achievement and bravery is to forget a part of our history, heritage and yes, even a part of ourselves.
Don Cherry's comments can be watched in Real Player here. That specific part begins at abt the 4:27 mark of the 6 minute file.
So, today is another chill day. I am getting uber excited about my dad leaving for the Middle East on June 14th. Prospects for an Apple IPod (drool)look promising. What I really want is an IPod Mini. But, they are sold out all over the world with a 6 month pre-order list. However, if any place in the world has a few lying around at a reasonable price, it's Dubai. So, my dad is gonna have to go on a search.
i'm out for now .. I finished the Book Of Secrets ... excellent. I'll post a review tomorrow. I also read another novel .. or novella actually. This weekend has been kinda fun.
