Lots of news today..

First off... that dink in washington. George Bush is backing a plan to constitutionally ban on same sex marriages. He wants to put that in the constitution. Wow.. Do these people not realise that the first person who takes the law to the supreme court will win causing even more embarassment for the governement?

No matter what your stance on same sex marriages, including this type of ban in the constitution is discriminatory and illegal under all declerations of law and human rights. All I want to know is who is advising this guy and do they not realise that they will have a hornet's nest on their hands if this backfires on them even if they do gain in teh short term because of added support for the elections.

If you look at the original delerations/ideas/ideals that American institutions and the constitution were built upon, it is truly saddening to see the state of such prohetic and just institutions today. The fathers of America must be turning in their graves in response to some of the suggestion this dumbass keeps putting forth.

On other fronts, Ottawa is mulling over the idea of giving land to the American Missile Defense program. This too is a bad idea, many of which I have ranted abt before.

Lastly (for now anyway) ... The Haaretz reports that an Oxford University panel of lawyers has deemed Israel's security wall to be in violation of international law and conventions. This could be a prophetic precursor to the ongoing trial in front of the ICJ at the Hague.
