I've been rearranging letters for recreation and recompense since I was 10. there hasn't been any money yet, but I'm keeping the faith.

Sit

Sit, drink your coffee here; your work can wait awhile.
You're twenty-six, and still have some of life ahead.
No need for wit; just talk vacuities, and I'll
Reciprocate in kind, or laugh at you instead.

The world is too opaque, distressing and profound.
This twenty minutes' rendezvous will make my day:
To sit here in the sun, with grackles all around,
Staring with beady eyes, and you two feet away.

-- Vikram Seth

I like this poem a lot. It reminds me of friends and of times not so busy and rushed. In this world of MSN, emails and blogs, I would love to have two good friends by my side and a cofee in hand while we "talk vacuities". Oh how I wouldn't love that right now, instead of this godfarsaken essay.
