I was watching a PBS documentary on early Chinese immigrants to America that came in search of gold because of economic hardships in China. Very interesting documentary. However, I ket thinking about a little segment they had before the documentary came on.

PBS asked a few well known historians/statesmen/dignitaries/scientists two questions. The answers were not only interesting, they were surprising.

The frst question asked was, "who would be the one person you would being into our world today to show them our world?"

The first historian answered, 'Sitting Bull and I would tell him that he shoukd have fought harder." Another historian said Buddha because his religion is the one of the only popular religion in human history which has never reverted to war. Desmond Tutu (renowed priest and pioneer, side by side with Mandela, of the South African Apartheid struggle) replied that he would bring Gandhi.

The next quesion asked was, "What would be the object you would hand out to everyone on earth?". One scientist replied, "A brochure on family planning." Another replied that he would hand people that we as a species knew nothing about or could not explain; like something that for instance glows for reasons unbeknowest to us. Desmond Tutu once again gave my favorite answer. He wuld have handed everyone a red nose and a clown hat; because at the end of the day, life is supposed to be fun.

The United Sates might be close to changing its military strategy within Iraq in the next few months. However, this move will do nothing to alleviate the concerns of those that fear that the United States intends to stay for a long period of time.

Young kid who is not homophobic is punished and force to apologise for his intelligence and accepting ways by teachers at his school. School is now being pressured by civil liberties groups.

and in other news... my landlord wants to raise my rent by $15 dollars a month for next year's lease AND he wants to know in writing if I am going to resign my lease by Dec 31st. What? This is a topsy turvy world we live in ppl... craziness.. off to bed...
