I am listening to Nigerian Afro Beat by Fela Kuti right now.. what a beautiful musical piece... astonishing how all thsoe instruments can work so well in sync..
I just came back from a presentation that went really well .. even though the first group that was gonna present took waaay too long. But, our presentation was bang on and I'm hoping that we got an A. Speaking of As, I got one on the History paper that I wrote on the Ottomans. I am really proud of myself. I worked my ass off on that thing ... spent all of my birthday at the library reasearching for it.. and it paid off. Good job Uzi (please insert picture of me patting myself on the back here).
ok.. another website. I cannot belive I forgot abt this yesterday. ZED is a great website. A collection of shorts and films that will astonish you, make you cry, laugh, wonder, and contemplate about life and other stuff you don't get to pay attention to often times. Amazingly managed. Great show too. Airs every weeknight on CBC at 11:25 pm... but if you live somewhere other than Canada.. check out the website. You can watch all the films and shorts that have been aired in any episode ever. It is simply amazing. One of the few refuges for us people who are creative but have no time or money to express ourselves freely. A favourite website of myself, Floodgate Bourke and the always lovely and fabulous Maral. Check it out!
Onto the links:
ok.. i am not one to judge other cultures and people for what they do, unless it's really horrible. Right? right.. so.. this is disturbing... man how can the Japanese love mayonnaise so much? .... oh and all questions wondering about how i came across that will be disregarded... don't look at me like that!
moving on .. how abt taking political correctness way too far... Kids can't even sit on Santa's knees now? .. gimme a break... why don't u just hire someone who won't feel the kids up... ridiculous!
James Driskell .. a free man for the time being. A feel good story.
That story reminds me of a quote form one of my favourite movies.. Tom Hanks in the movie Philadelphia, is asked by Denzel Washington.. "what do you love about the law?"
Hanks replies.. "Well... many things. But I think the thing I love the most, is that every once in a while, not that often, but occasionally... you get to be part of justice being done. It's really quite a thrill when that happens."
maybe one day when I'm a lawyer... I can feel that way too.. maybe....
