one comes across the most intriguing stories in the back pages of a newspaper... is naybody paying attention?

two weeks ago.. palestinian prime minister .. abu-mazen met with president bush and lobbied himt o put pressure upon Israel to stop building its highly contentious security fence at its borders... president bush said he would take it into account..

then ariel sharon met with bus .. abd bush came out of that meeting to say that the wall was a issue "close to the heart" of isarelis.. and he woul dnot push it any further... and that the israelis had made their end of the bargain already... arite..

now here comes the kicker.. three days later... today that is... the bush government is threatening to suspend billions of dollars in aid to israel if it does not immediately halt the construction of the wall .. what happened? why the about face?

what happened in the last three days that resulted in such a drastic change in opinion about the wall..?
