Arrighhhhht! I am back and I am glad I went to that concert! Daaaamn!
Amazing concert. Blew me away. I had teh time of my life. AC-DC was the shit. I went to see them and they did not disappoint at all.. Amazing
Three acts stood out above alll others.. The Guess Who Rolling Stones and AC fucking DC.
I could not believe how amazing AC DC were.. I do not have words to describe how awesome I felt while they were on their set.. and when they finished... I was sad that they didn't play for longer.... I am going to be on an ACDC trip for a few weeks...
moving on..
Here is a great article by Robert Fisk ... It's about how the US is failing in Iraq. Very informative and quite contradictory to much of the bullshit coming out of newspapers in the US.
Another great article this week appeared in the Washington Post by Anthony Shadid (another amazing journalist). This piece is amazing. It talks about the fate of those that are suspected and accused of being US infromants in Iraq. (via the Baghdad Blogger. The link is that a way --->)
Here is a website that allows you to use today's technology to see what Mona Lisa would look like if we gave her a new coat of paint and some touch ups...
ok.. now moving on to the customary rant.. first read this article .. Ok.. you don't wanna read it.. that's cool.. basically the US Senate wants to ban gay marriages in the US.
ok.. so here is my problem with this. Why ban it? Why? If you do not agree with it then don't give it constitutional recognition. Don't give gays and lesbians the right to file for the benefits that other "couples" recieve. But..why ban it? This basically means that you not only will not recognise a gay marriage but will also arrest anyone trying to solidify their love for each other with a simple ceremony in front of their god. How stupid is that? Fucking dumb people man. Mark my words.. this bill (if it becomes law) will be challenged, and it will be labelled unconstitutional. It's one thing to have your own opinions (however misguided and narrow minded they are).. it's a completely diffrent situation when you expect everyone else to live by and believe in the same stuff as you do...
Also on the same topic.. here is an excerpt from a blog I was reading a few days ago. These are exact words from neuroti.ca:
"According to the leaders of the Catholic church, I'm supposed to oppose same-sex marriage at all costs. Trouble is, they're not telling me why I should do that.
In everything I read and everything I hear, the only reasons being given to oppose such a change is a) that it will somehow degrade so-called "family values", and/or it will - heaven forbid - move gays and lesbians closer to full equality.
Let's think about this for a moment: The committed same-sex couples that I have met through the years have had far more solid and enduring relationships than most of the married couples I know. I'd hardly call that a degradation of the family. The other part of this is - news flash - not everyone in the world is gay. Men and women will continue to get together and procreate and marry and divorce for as long as the world turns. Recognizing our gay brothers and sisters will not impede that. For heaven's sake, why not allow them to be fully recognized as life partners, with all the accompanying benefits and tax deductions?
The other part of the argument, and the one that infuriates me the most, is the willingness of the Catholic church to make sure that gays and lesbians are not recognized as equal to others. I'm thinking that, for those of us who practise a religion, The Big Guy sees us all as equals, regardless of who we fall in love with. It sounds cliche, but - again if you have a faith - are we not "all God's children"? If you love someone and you do right by them, isn't that the most important factor?
So, once again, (and I have a feeling I won't burn in hell for saying this), the Pope is wrong. Rather than being tolerant and inclusive and showing love for all of mankind (that would be the gender-neutral mankind, of course), he is wagging a finger and treating a portion of our society as lepers, and for no good reason. That's the biggest sin of all."
Well said. I totally agree with the writer of this post (his/her name is not posted on the blog). That is what good education is. Being able to decipher right from wrong. Being able to question why and how instead of "where do i follow you to?".
also.. staying with the American senate for a minute.. The senate is also trying to pass a bill that will see a ban on AOL's blogging department. Basically, in a sign of blogging's ever growing popularity... AOL has begun a service much similiar to its AOL Messenger, that would see its users have the option of using blogs. The US senate believes this should be banned. Basically, they are saying in the bill that AOL user's lack the intelligence to operate blogs that are worth reading. That is true. I will not doubt that for a minute. AOL users are dumb.. cuz why would they need so many icons and music notes to annouce all sorts of fucking shit every two seconds. But, what I have a problem with is them trying to ban AOL from making blogs available. Does the senate not have anything important to do?
How about a fucking probe into the Weapons of Mass Destruction that never popped up? How about banning George Bush from speaking on the grounds that he is too dumb to talk much less be the president. Fuck me.. I'm working my ass off to get a few hundred bucks a week and these politicians are discussing blogs while smoking cigars and sitting on their armani clad asses.
talking about asses.. there were two girls at the concert in front of us. Lord have mercy. Amazing. holy shit.. one of them had an absolutely amazing tat on the small of her back and the other one was amazingly cute. Both had great asses. I am an ass man first and then a human. And man oh man..
At the beginning of the night, I liked the one with the tat more cuz well .. basically cuz she was smokin' hot. I don't mean hoochie hot. She was not a skank. This girl had class. She was hot.. but she commanded it.. didn't beg for it. But, as the night went on, I liked her friend a bit more than her. She was not as hot.. a bit on the short side but she was really really pretty. When she first turned around to talk to me, man her eyes.. wow.. i got lost in them for a few secs.. damn! ... I can't stop thinkin' about her .. shoulda tried my luck.. but I was having too much fun to get turned down by a girl and have my mood destroyed..
good music.. great lookin' girls (thank you mr. justin timbelake) and a whole lotta "fun"...
ok.. enough for today... I'm gonna go watch some TV.
lates...
