But first... what is concious hip hop. This is hip hop in its truest form. There is something deep to the lyrics. These songs are not about ass, hoochies, cars and bling bling. Not surprisingly, most of these songs are never seen by the main stream media. Some of these artists are virtual unknowns to many hip hop fans who fail to recognise the true art. These songs can be about anything.. relationships/ politics/ life etc. These lyrics have to be listened to, these songs deserve more than just head nodding..
