Stats Can released the new unemployment rates for canada yesterday. The unemployment rate rate went up to 7.8%. An increase of 0.3% since last month. As if that was not bad enough, that is not even the whole story.

That figure does not include the increase in unemployment that has been caused by the second wave of SARS. This wave of SARS was even more disastrous for the Canadian economy than the first wave. Everyone is feelign the pinch. People from Prince Edward Island to Hlaifax to Vancouver are getting laid off.

then, we have the other problem, Mad Cow Disease. Even though there is only one cow that has been found to have mad cow till now, hundreds have been laid off and if the situation does not get better soon, thousands more will be too. Even this statistic is not included in the figure released. Both these situations arose too late to be incorporated into this month's national unemployment rate.

This sux big time. Part time jobs for students (as said in the article above) doesn't mean shit right now.. i need a full time job to make my payments. How the fuck am i supposed to pay for shit when no one is payin me? OSAP (Ontario Student Loan Programme) better have a plan ready, not only for me but also for thousands others.
