One of my favourite reporters/journalists is Robert Fisk who lives and works out of Beirut, Lebanon. He has covered some of the world's most volatile regions like Lebanon during the war, and more recently Afghanistan and Iraq (even when the wars had started). His articles are usually published in an english newspaper called The Independent. This is a great news paper.
Recently though, it has become really hard for me to access his articles because The Independent's website has started charging readers to read featured articles like those by Fisk. As a university student, I really don't have the money to spare; however, now I have found a few other newspaper sites that still feature Fisk's articles for free. So here is Fisk's latest article that was published today, Welcome to Iraq, Mr President . I am going to be posting links to his articles once in a while because not only are they insightful, they are also not effected by regular media reports. Fisk offers a brand of journalism seldom seen today -- moRe facts and accounts, less rhetoric. Enjoy!
