I went to the doctor today. For the past week, I have been having some problems digesting and I seem to get searing pains rip through my stomach and chest area. The pain is intense and I have to stop dead in my tracks before I can do anything else. Although intense, it is momentary. But, it still hurts.
The doctor narrowed the problem down to either gastrointestinal disease (or something like that) or an ulcer at the trailing end of my stomach. When I asked what might have led to either these things, his answer was more complicated than the reasons for rain in june. So, for all I know, I might still be doing something wrong but thanks to him I wuldn't know what I am doing.
However, I have dropped strict rules abt the spicy/pakistani/indian food consumption in my daily diet. This has crushed my mother's spirit because she believes that I will not get my nutrients and what not; I reminded her that I would much rather walk without a searing pain than eat chicken and beef swimming in curries that constitute of 97% fat and 3% spices.
Hopefully, the whole problem will go away after the antibiotics he gave me. I really do not want it to be an ulcer. That would be a problem to say the least.
Moving on.. I picked up a book today. wel actually, I picked up two. I picked up The Polished Hoe by Austin Clark (winner of the Giller Prize) and Born Confused by Tanuja Desai. I saw a review that looked really interesting for tha letter book on TV on a show called Play.
I think this will be the end of my indulgences for a few weeks; I have to make rent and then pay off some school debt. S, I think I am going to be happy with these books and not spend anymore money on trivial stuff. There were these absolutely amazing pants at The Gap which I really wanted. Thanfully I was able to drag myself out and escort myself to the nearest Chapters and read about pants rather than buy them.
will write more later...
