I caught the last hour of the Tony Awards (the oscars of broadway) tonight. As a fan of broadway shows and plays, I look forward to catching the show every year bcuz I get the chance to see some performances that I might not usually catch here in Toronto and also to preview some shows which will be opening here very soon.

Hair Spray , a musical set in the '60s, was the huge winner today. It won for Best Musical, Best Actress, Best Actor and recieved Tonies in five other categories. A must-see when it comes to Canada.

also of note.. of all the people in the world, Antonio Banderas won a Tony for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his role in Nine, The Musical. Seeig his performance on stage today, I have a new found respect for this man who many (including me) considered to be a macho actor capable of performing only in fickle fight scenes.
