Having talked abt current infatuations earlier.. i thought i would continue...

Def Poetry .. Spoken Word.. or Slam Poetry... these are some of the names associated with my current 'hobby'.. basically this is poetry... with a twist.. not your average ... i'll read wordsworth, keats or yates... althou that is awesome stuff too.. but this is different... this is usually performed... and it doesn't have to rhyme... there are some rules but they are minimalistic...

i don't write def poetry.. i listen to it... it speaks to me... sometimes it's good to jam too... sometimes it's good to take a message from.. many a times it's just a good mp3 to listen to...

my favourite one right now is by a guy named Gemini or Gemineye .. it is called "Poetic Bloodline" ... amazing... i listen to it three times a day .. and i am left breathless each time... if you would like to listen to it.. go here and listen to the second clip that is listed on this page ... u will not regret it..

the other ones on this page are awesome too... but this one speaks to me.. i don't know why tho... i have never been one to write poetry... neither have i had a huge interest in current poets... i do like the old school stuff.. wordswroth, yates, keats, foster etc etc... i guess u never know til u try something...

one of the premier shows in America regarding poetry is on HBO, the show is Called "Def Poetry" ... it is hosted by one of my favorite MCs/ Hip Hop Artists/ Rappers ... Mos Def.
