a few days ago.. Sean Penn (Actor, Director and Producer) took out a full page ad in the new york times (cost: US $135,000) .. and in that space .. he published a full page essay that flogged US President George Bush on his move to attack Iraq and especially on the fact that the President has not found or even proved the existence of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) In Iraq.

Penn carried out a similiar action back in November '02, when he took out a full page in the Washington Post and made his opinion known on the then upcoming war against Iraq... needless to say he was agianst the war as any sane and educated man or woman would have been.

I want to thank Sean Penn for his actions. I know it sounds sappy and everything, but in an age when no debate is tolerated within American media, it is imperative that people like Sean Penn speak out. The rest of the world can point fingers at the US, but the United States will not pay much attention. why? because people in Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan, Canada, France, Germany etc. etc. have never liked American foreign policy .. the change, resistence and differing opinions have to come from within the system, and you don't get much more within the system than Hollywood. So Thank You Mr. Penn. I too dream of an America that adheres to the principles it was built upon; the principles of equality, peace, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all men.
